28/11/2008 | Jill Adams was recently honoured at the end of year Golf Club Championships held at the Boorowa Recreation Club.
After an enjoyable day of golf, the ladies were presented with their various well deserved trophies.
This was truly a day to celebrate as Jill was overwhelmed when she cut her 80th birthday cake.
28/11/2008 | Last week Mayor Wendy Tuckerman was in Canberra for the Inaugural meeting of all Australian Local Council Mayors which proved to be a very worthwhile occasion for Boorowa Council.
The Federal Government spoke of forging stronger partnerships between Federal and Local Government and was acutely aware of the state of infrastructure in our nation. The announcement of immediately distributing 250 million dollars to Councils was most welcome, of which Boorowa Council was allocated $100,000.
20/11/2008 | Boorowa Central School Cricket Team played well on Thursday when they took on Colleambally in the final round of the southern NSW knockout. This game was to decide who would represent at state finals.
20/11/2008 | Tanya Kershaw is our 2009 Boorowa Show Girl after a ceremony on Saturday night where she was chosen as the winner.
The three girls involved had spent the day with the judges before they got to the evening and so everyone was very relaxed with each other.
13/11/2008 | ON the eleventh day of the eleventh month at 11am, approximately 30 local residents and war veterans gathered at the War Memorial to remember those that sacrificed their lives during war.
The service, which was conducted by Nashos Mike Coombes included the playing of Reville and the Last Post followed by a minute’s silence and the raising of the Australian flag.

6/11/2008 | Boorowa Ex-Services Gold Diggers dominated in Young on Saturday afternoon, out-bowling and overrunning the Aussie Burrangong Cubs in spectacular fashion.
The Diggers lost the toss and the Cubs chose to bat first.
6/11/2008 | Last weekend Mayor Wendy Tuckerman attended the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Tidy Towns awards held in Dorrigo.
Boorowa was the winner of the Tidy Towns Award 2009 in the Wildlife Corridors and Habitats Conservation Award. This award was presented to Mayor Tuckerman by Doctor Lyn Webber from the Department of Environment and Climate Change for the Boorowa River Recovery Project.
31/10/2008 | A tradition that Boorowa has held for the last 43 years, once again saw an influx of local and out of town students compete in the annual Touch Netball Carnival.
The Boorowa Showground was turned into a busy playing field with students from St Joseph’s School marking out a number of netball courts and touch playing fields to cater for the close to 3000 students from across NSW and the ACT.

23/10/2008 | MORE than 50 representatives of CWA Clubs and neighbouring zones converged on Boorowa on Monday for the annual CWA South West Zone Conference.
Among the attendees were Boorowa mayor, Wendy Tuckerman and Mrs Gloria Schultz the wife of Member for Hume Alby Schultz.
17/10/2008 | The annual netball and touch carnival is just around the corner, scheduled for Friday October 24.
Certainly one of the biggest events in Boorowa, and arguable one of the biggest carnivals of its type anywhere, the netball and touch carnival generally involves approximately 3,000 students who play.
17/10/2008 | BOOROWA Central School will host a public speaking competition next Tuesday, with schools from across the Riverina taking part.
The competition began in 1994 as a project for Boorowa students and has progressed from there, to now include students from Henry Lawson in Grenfell, Cootamundra, Young, Harden, Yass, Boorowa and Cowra.
