 Prepare for Irish invasion

Prepare for Irish invasion

3/07/2008 8:35:00 AM
Excitement is mounting in Boorowa for the arrival of 140 World Youth Day Irish Pilgrims who will arrive from next Monday.

Each pilgrim will be given a presentation pack from Boorowa with information, brochures and a gift of a beanie and a badge. We have also taken under our wings 20 Samoans who are staying at the Galong Monastery as they have been sponsored here. Any warm clothing for these pilgrims would be much appreciated and Father Greg would be interested to hear from you. The Catholic Church has provided these visitors with sleeping bags.

Local people are invited to come and meet our guests and to assist with transport or hosting the visit. Everyone is welcome to take part in and assist with any activities that are not specifically for Hosts and Pilgrims. For further information call Jack Ryan on 62272826 or 0409840465.

A program of activities has been compiled for our visitors who range from families to single young people.

Daily Mass will take place at St Patrick’s Church at 9am on Monday to Thursday.

Next week the Boorowa News will produce a Souvenir Edition featuring the World Youth Day Pilgrims and their hosts. If you would like to include your personal message to our visitors, please call Ria or Rob at the office on 6385 3020 as soon as possible.
